Born and raised in Hamilton, Ben attended Hamilton Boys’ High School with tertiary education in Agriculture at Lincoln, Sustainable Nutrient Management remotely from Massey and business at Waikato University.
Ben's career started with farming in the 1990s in dairy, deer, and bulls before moving through a variety of roles in the agriculture and agriculture support sector including logistics, management, project management, sales management, technology, sustainability and most recently the sales manager for FC Boats.
This multirole career has opened Ben up to many sectors in the industry and has built his knowledge and connections, allowing him to reach the top of all his career roles.
Ben is a family man and lives with his wife Brigitta and his daughter Holly. His sons Fletcher and Lukas have left the nest and have careers in electrical engineering and sales respectively. Brigitta owns and runs Recruitnet a well-known specialist recruitment company. Ben's father Neil Warren was a well-known legend in the rural banking sector.
In his spare time, Ben enjoys fishing and volunteers as a committee member to help run the Raglan Sports Fishing Club. Other interests include waterski racing which his sons compete in, cross-fit, mountain biking, diving, and spending time at the family bach at Opito Bay on the Coromandel Peninsula.
