About Corey Thorn

With more than 25 years in the Northland rural industry, Corey brings a depth of practical, technical, and strategic expertise that few can match. His career began in the early 2000’s with PGG Wrightson Rural Supplies, where he progressed to the role of Technical Field Representative. This hands‑on experience gave him an intimate understanding of the day‑to‑day needs, supply chains, and operational realities of Northland farming businesses.

From there, he moved into farm consultancy with DairyNZ, advising farmers on complex dairy systems, production efficiency, and long‑term management planning. This role strengthened his analytical capability and deepened his knowledge of farm performance and sustainability.

Corey’s career then expanded into management with Pioneer, where he served as Area Manager. Focusing on seed and silage solutions, he developed an even broader understanding of pasture management, cropping systems, and the drivers of on‑farm productivity across the region.

This extensive background equips him with a unique advantage in real estate. He doesn’t just view a rural property as land—he understands its productive capacity, soil health, potential risk factors, and the real opportunities it offers. His practical, “boots‑on-the-ground” knowledge provides invaluable insight for both vendors and buyers navigating the Northland rural property market.

Whether assessing a dairy unit, lifestyle block, or high‑performing pastoral farm, he brings credibility, experience, and regional knowledge that ensure clients receive informed, trustworthy guidance throughout their real estate journey.
