After owning our farm for eight years we made the difficult decision to sell. I say difficult, because it is the farm where we raised our kids, taught them how to drive, taught them how to milk and I suppose taught our four kids to be all round, sound country kids. We re-fenced the total farm, planted thousands of natives, got to see Petunia, Mikey, Stumpy and all the other pets in the herd.
As selling the farm is such a mix of personal emotions, it is also intertwined with the reality that it is your business you are selling, and you want someone to represent the value of what you have created. When we decided to sell there was no doubt on our minds that Dan was who we wanted to go through that process with. Dan has two great strengths. Firstly, he has a personable character. We have looked at several properties over the years with a number of different agents. The person we wanted to deal with and front our farm had to be straight up, genuine, and without any bull.
Secondly, Dan has a huge advantage of many years in the banking sector. Dan sold our fantastic business and had the banking background to promote it in a manner which enabled purchasers to realise the potential return on investment, should they purchase the property.
At the end of the day, the vendor is after the best possible sale result and there is no doubt that Dan had a positive influence on the outcome through his financial skills and his great character.
