Shaun Haynes

Shaun Haynes is a well‑respected local dairy and beef farmer based in Okaihau, Northland. Coming from a four‑generation farming family, Shaun has deep roots in the region and a strong understanding of Northland farming communities and rural life.

Alongside his hands‑on farming experience, Shaun spent 10 years working in the banking industry, where he gained valuable financial and commercial expertise. This combination of practical farming knowledge and financial acumen gives him a strong understanding of farming systems, productivity, and rural finances.

Shaun is widely known throughout Northland for his involvement in the community, particularly through rugby. He has played and coached various teams, including the New Zealand Vikings, demonstrating leadership, teamwork, and commitment both on and off the field.

He is currently the President of the Northland Sheep Dog Trial Association and also serves on the New Zealand executive of the New Zealand Sheep Dog Trial Association, reflecting his ongoing contribution to rural sport and governance.
